Meowtain 2048 (냥리산 2048) · operated by So-NetFloor
You can play all of Meowtain 2048 without signing up. We don't ask for your real name or email, the app doesn't request device permissions such as contacts, photos, or location, and there are no ads or third-party analytics tools. Some information does go to our server: your records, for Season Ranking, and your visits and runs, so we can see how much the game is used. This page explains what goes where, and why.
1. What we collect
Player identifier
The first time the app runs, your device generates a random value. It is the key that ties your ranking records and usage records together. It is not linked to your name, phone number, device ID, or advertising ID. If you uninstall and reinstall the app, a new one is generated.
Season Ranking records
When you're online, the following is sent to our server automatically at the end of each run of the main climb. The server saves it only if it is your best record this season (one week); if it is lower, the server just sends back the rankings.
| Item | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Display name | A name of up to 12 characters. It starts as a name the app picks (e.g. Cat-1a2b) and you can change it yourself on the ranking screen. Other players can see it on the rankings | To show on the rankings |
| Country | A two-letter country code. It is first guessed from your device's language and region settings; you can pick another one or choose "Don't show" on the ranking screen. It is not based on location data | To show a flag on the rankings |
| Score, runs, time | Your record, how many runs you played this season up to that record, when you set it, and when you last submitted | To rank it and break ties, and to filter out records set faster than a person could play |
Runs played without a connection are not sent. Your player identifier is also sent when the home and ranking screens load the rankings, but nothing is stored on the server then. Records from Rest-Stop Puzzle, Shelf Puzzle, and Cat 2048 stay on your device.
Usage records
To see how much the game is used, we store just three things on our server, per player identifier, for each day: whether you opened the app that day, whether you played at least one run, and whether you played at least three. We do not store how long you stayed, your device model, or your IP address.
What stays on your device
Your best scores, paw stamps, unlocked cats and pack frames, puzzle progress, stats, and language and sound settings are kept only in the app's storage on your device. We can't read them, and they are removed when you uninstall the app.
2. What we don't do
- We do not sell personal information or hand it to third parties.
- There are no ads, and we do not collect the advertising ID.
- There are no accounts or sign-in. We don't take your email, real name, or profile photo.
- We do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting tools such as Google Analytics or Firebase.
- We do not access contacts, photos, files, or call history. The app does not ask for location permission.
- There is no chat or messaging. The only things other players see are your display name, flag, and records.
3. Who processes it and where
| Who | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Operator (game server) | Season Ranking records, usage records | Rented server in South Korea |
| SMILESERV | Server hosting — rents us the virtual server the game server runs on. It does not read or use what is stored there | South Korea |
Our server is the only place the app talks to. The Android internet permission is used only for that. If the hosting provider changes, we update this table.
4. How long we keep it
| Item | Retention |
|---|---|
| Season Ranking records | Kept as history showing past season winners while the service runs. Deleted on request |
| Usage records | Kept while we use them to analyse the game, and deleted when the service ends. Deleted sooner on request |
| IP address | Our server uses it briefly for rate limiting and does not store it |
| Server backups | We take a copy before server maintenance and keep only the few most recent. Deleted data can remain in backups until they are replaced |
| Progress on your device | Stays on the device and is removed when you uninstall the app |
5. How we protect it
- Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
- The player identifier is a random value, so server data alone can't tell us who you are.
- Only the operator can access the server.
6. Deleting your data
- Display name and country: you can change them yourself on the ranking screen, and you can set country to "Don't show". Changes apply from your next record; names on records from past seasons that were already sent can be deleted on request.
- Ranking records, usage records: email us at the address below. The player identifier isn't shown in the game, so include your display name, country, and roughly when you played, and we will find your data from that. If several players share the name, we may ask a few more questions to confirm it's you.
- If you only uninstall the app: progress on the device is gone, but records already sent to our server remain. Use the steps above to delete them.
We handle emailed requests within 30 days of confirming them and reply when done. Deleted data is permanently removed from the database and cannot be recovered. If several records share the same name and we cannot work out which one is yours, deletion may be limited so that we don't erase another player's records by mistake.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your information, or ask us to stop processing it. You can change your display name and country yourself in the game; for anything else, email us.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the GDPR also gives you the right to data portability and to object to processing, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases are providing the game (Season Ranking) and legitimate interests (preventing fake records, improving the game).
If a US state privacy law applies to you (for example in California), you can ask to access or delete your information. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising, and we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
8. Children
This game is not directed at children under 13 and does not ask for your age. If we learn that we have information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If a child has typed personal information into their display name, a parent or guardian can email us.
9. Changes
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we update this page first and change the effective date. Significant changes are also announced in the game.
